The 2020 Vision of The Philippine Red Cross Boracay Malay Chapter

As we welcome the new decade, your Philippine Red Cross Boracay Malay Chapter is also gearing towards greater heights. We start the decade with some great news to share with you.

First, we have elected a new set of Board of Directors who will guide our chapter in the next two years. We welcome in the Red Cross family our newly elected set of BODs: Ms. Claire Jeffery, Ms. Astrophel Tabanera, Dr. Adrian Salavar, Ms. Marlyn Gregorio, Mr. Rhoi Justin Consista, Mr. Ernesto Bandiola Cruz and SPO1 Christopher Mendoza. Coming from various sectors, their addition to the Red Cross family is surely an edge for us to fulfil our mission and achieve our goal.

More great news to celebrate is the appointment of our full-pledged Chapter Administrator, Ms Rona Liza Inocencio. A registered nurse, she started as a volunteer in 2009 for the chapter, and later returned as a full-time staff in 2013. From then on, she has served various roles for the organization. She served as a chapter service representative for the Red Cross Youth program as Deputy Administrator and later as Officer-in-Charge for the past two years. Aside from our laudable Chapter Administrator, the Red Cross also have the most hardworking staff: Ms. Stella Marie Carreon as CSR for the Red Cross Youth Services, Mr. Gary Patricio for Safety Services, and Ms. Marjorie Gesite as Bookkeeper.

With an earnest set of BODs, a reliable Chapter Administrator, and our dependable staff, we are indeed hopeful to deliver the best humanitarian service for the island community and the rest of Malay.

Lastly, we are getting closer to our goal of putting up a blood station/blood collection unit for the island. The ultimate goal is to open the blood facility this year; and we can only do that through your support. Help us achieve that goal by joining us this coming February 13 in our MILLION VOLUNTEER LOVE RUN. Show your love for Boracay as we run for humanity during the Million Volunteer Love Run 5. The MVR is the biggest humanitarian run of the Philippine Red Cross. You can support this activity by availing the Love MVR package of PhP1,500 which comes with a singlet, string bag, and race bib, and our huggable “Pula Bear.” You can also run for the event with the basic package without the bear for only PhP700. To register, contact us at (033) 228-2418.

1,000 “PULA” BEARS TO REBUILD A SCHOOL. By adopting this huggable bear, you are also helping us rebuild the MASA Ati School in Barangay Cubay Sur in mainland Malay, which was badly hit by typhoon Ursula last Christmas. Seven classrooms of the school were destroyed by the storm. Avail of this cute bears for only PhP799.00 and help us rebuild the school for its 160 students. Together, let us achieve our goal of 1,000 Pula Bears.
