An American photographer, renowned for his portraits of U.S. politicians and celebrities, visited Boracay in March to prepare for an upcoming photo exhibition in New York.
Rob Rich shared with the Boracay Sun News that his exhibit entitled” Vibrant Depths,” will showcase the underwater splendor of various Philippine tourism destinations, with a special focus on Boracay. In addition to this resort island, his showcase features the marine environments of Tagaytay, Puerto Galera, and Coron Island.
The exhibition is slated for April 20, 2026, at the Philippine Embassy gallery in New York.
Rich is the co-owner of the Rob Rich-Robert Wayne Studios in Sea Cliff, New York. Their portfolio features mixed-media work, including poured glass-text, textiles, and installations that explore language and surreal imagery. The studio is known for creating delicate, rule-breaking art.
Their high-profile subjects include President Donald Trump and iconic celebrities such as Jon Bon Jovi, Lady Gaga, and Madonna, among others.
“For years, I traveled the world for vacation, and when I first came to the Philippines, I fell in love with its beauty and the people’s hospitality. I return often, especially to Boracay,” said Rich, who has a background in marine biology.
Driven by this connection to the Philippines, he dreamed of hosting an exhibit to showcase the country’s marine biodiversity and culture in the U.S. He says that he is thankful to the Philippine Embassy in New York for supporting his vision.
“This is my way of giving back to the Philippine tourism industry. I hope my photographs inspire more Americans to visit the country, particularly Boracay,” Rich added.
