June has long been considered the traditional wedding month, and Boracay Island remains one of the country’s top destinations for tropical and beach-themed weddings. Named after Juno, the Roman goddess of marriage, June is believed to bring newlyweds prosperity and happiness.

Voted one of the World’s Most Romantic Islands by Travel + Leisure, Boracay offers couples a picture-perfect setting for their dream celebration. With powder-soft white sand, turquoise waters and breathtaking sunsets, the island provides a naturally romantic backdrop for weddings, vow renewals and celebrations of love.

Beyond the ceremony itself, Boracay also gives guests the chance to enjoy one of the world’s best beaches, with activities ranging from family-friendly adventures to vibrant nightlife and luxury experiences.

For smoother planning and execution, many couples choose experienced Boracay-based wedding planners who can work within different budgets while coordinating reliable local suppliers and venues.

While June marks the start of the rainy season, it remains a popular wedding month on the island. December is another favorite, especially for families returning home for the holidays, although weddings happen in Boracay all year round.

Top Beach Wedding Tips

When it comes to destination weddings, planning is key. For those who have pinned Boracay Island as your dream beach wedding destination, here are some invaluable tips from no less than the island’s top Wedding and Events planner, Amanda Tirol.

1. Finish planning early.

Aim to finalize major details at least two months before the wedding so you can focus on yourselves and your guests in the final stretch leading up to the big day.

2. Be practical with styling.

Collect peg photos for your stylists, and consider using local flower varieties that achieve the same effect while adding a touch of local charm.

3. Hire experienced local suppliers.

Whenever possible, source suppliers from Boracay. Flying in suppliers means additional expenses for airfare, accommodations and daily incidentals.

4. Meet suppliers ahead of time.

Be sure you or your wedding planner coordinates with suppliers well in advance to iron out important details.

5. Know the beach regulations.

Beach events are prohibited within the 30-meter easement zone, although some beachfront properties can accommodate smaller gatherings. Hilltop chapels with scenic views are also popular alternatives.

6. Arrange photo shoots early.

Coordinate with your planner or venue for pre- or post-nuptial shoots to capture stunning Boracay wedding photos.

7. Consider alternatives to fire dancing.

While fire dancing is prohibited on the beach, performances are allowed in other areas. LED performances are also a popular alternative.

8. Plan ahead for after-parties.

Due to sound ordinances, loud music must be lowered at certain hours. If you plan to continue celebrating, book prior arrangements with indoor bars and clubs ahead of time.

9. Make pre-wedding events memorable.

Host welcome parties or pre-wedding gatherings at venues different from your ceremony or reception site so guests can experience more of Boracay while keeping the wedding venue special.

10. End with a unique celebration.

Private boat cruises remain a popular post-wedding activity, giving guests an unforgettable experience surrounded by Boracay’s natural beauty.
