New Police Chief Assumes Command of Malay PNP, Vows Stronger Peace and Security Measures

The Philippine National Police (PNP) has officially deployed Police Lieutenant Colonel Orlando A. Carag Jr. as the new chief of the Malay Municipal Police Station (MPS).

Since assuming command, PLt. Col. Carag has intensified police visibility through regular foot and mobile patrols and public safety initiatives in key areas of Malay and Boracay.

His leadership has focused on crime prevention, ensuring the safety of residents and tourists, and strengthening police presence in major tourism and commercial zones. Carag said the Malay PNP will continue working closely with local government officials and communities to help maintain a peaceful environment that supports the municipality’s tourism industry.

Following his deployment, Carag met with Jose Enrique Miraflores, Frolibar Bautista and members of the Malay Council to discuss peace and order concerns and strengthen coordination between the PNP and local government.

Among his priority programs are intensified anti-criminality operations, increased police patrols in tourist areas, improved traffic management and community engagement activities aimed at promoting public trust and cooperation.

On June 20, Carag also facilitated the Adopt-A-Classroom Charity Project under Project SAVER (Support, Awareness, Victim Empowerment, Enforcement and Recovery) at Manocmanoc Elementary School.

The initiative benefited Grade 5 pupils through the distribution of school supplies and educational materials and underscored the importance of community support in nurturing the next generation.

Through Project SAVER, Malay MPS continues to strengthen partnerships with stakeholders, schools and private organizations in advancing programs that protect and support children, particularly those who are vulnerable and in need of assistance.
