Malay PNP MAC and TWG hold first joint meeting for 2020

The Malay Municipal Police Station’s Municipal Advisory Council and Technical Working Group held their first joint meeting in the afternoon of January 30, 2020 at CityMall Boracay – Activity Center.

PLTCOL Jonathan P Pablito, Chief of Police and RAdm Leoanard A Tirol, MAC Chairman presided over the said meeting.


PLTCOL Pablito extended his gratitude most especially to the MAC members for their active support to all the undertakings of the Malay PNP. Pablito is also the concurrent Chief of Strategy Review Branch of Regional Police Strategy Management Unit of Police Regional Office 6.

“Kayo ang isa sa pinaka active na MAC sa buong Region 6, my regular meeting na ginagawa kung saan napapag usapan ang mga programa para sa community ng Boracay Island at Mainland Malay. My continuity ang bawat programa at supportado ng lahat ng MAC Members sa pangunguna ni MAC Chairman RAdm Leonard A Tirol, he added”.

Astrophel Tabanera, Operation Manager of PCTV-Boracay and Cristian Gelito, Executive Director of Boracay Foundation Incorporated and an elected Barangay Kagawad of Manocmanoc, were inducted as additional MAC members during the meeting with PLTCOL Pablito as the administering officer.

Tabanera and Gelito promised to work closely, to support religiously the various community programs of Malay PNP.

GK Talapian, MAC Member – Youth Sector presented the various activities for Boracaynon/Malaynon Youth through the Sanagguniang Kabataan Municipal Federation of Malay which is spearheaded by another MAC Member, SKMF President Christine Hope Pagsuguiron.

MAC Chairman Tirol donated 260 protective face masks to the Malay PNP; 100 to Malay Tourism Office and 1,000 to Municipal Health Office of Malay as part of the campaign against 2019 novel coronavirus (nCov).

Madelle Joy Tayco, MAC Member – Health Sector gave an orientation about the 2019 nCov. What are coronaviruses, where this latest one originated, confirmed cases, and number of deaths per country, and a health advisory on how to protect yourself and others.

Tayco urged the MAC Members and TWG to help MHO in spreading the health advisory on nCov to the community and campaigned against sharing wrong information or fake news that create panic within the public.

Other members of MAC present were Vice Chairman Felix Delos Santos Jr, Chief of Municipal Tourism Office; Val Casimero, Principal of Manocmanoc National High School (Academe); Pastor Angelo Panganiban (Religious Sector); Commodore Mike Labatiao (Business Sector) and members of Technical Working Group led by PLT Telmigi Majuk, Chief PCR Section.
